Komitet Katy\u0144ski na Stan New Jersey, przy wsp\u00f3\u0142pracy Kongresu Poloni Ameryka\u0144skiej, wydzia\u0142 NJ oraz innych organizacji Polonijnych zebrali donacji na sum\u0119 ok. $ 15,000.00 za rok 2009. Do chwili obecnej zosta\u0142o wydane 12,000,00 tj. – szlifowanie schod\u00f3w przy pomniku i woskowanie pomnika Katy\u0144skiego przy Exchange Pl., w Jersey City, NJ. Pozosta\u0142o w kasie oko\u0142o $ 3,000.00.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Komitet nasz planuje zrobi\u0107 ogrodzenie wok\u00f3\u0142 pomnika i poprawic fundament. Koszta reperacji s\u0105 obliczone na ok. dwadzie\u015bcia tysi\u0119cy dolar\u00f3w. Potrzebne b\u0119d\u0105 te\u017c fundusze na dalsze utrzymanie pomnika. Komitet i KPA apeluje do Polonii, licznych organizacji i do os\u00f3b indywidualnych o donacje \u017ceby zaprezentowa\u0107 pomnik Katy\u0144ski jak najlepiej w siedemdziesi\u0105t\u0105 rocznic\u0119. Obecnie Komitet ma wyda\u0107 ksi\u0105\u017ck\u0119 pami\u0105tkow\u0105 z historycznymi artyku\u0142ami o Katyniu i siedemdziesi\u0105tej rocznicy mordu. Pomoc Polonii w tym wydaniu pami\u0105tkowym jest potrzebna i mile widziana. Ksi\u0105\u017cka b\u0119dzie podarowana do szk\u00f3\u0142 w Stanach Zjednoczonych i biblotek.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This year we commemorate seventieth anniversary of the Katyn Forest Massacre. Our committee, together with the Polish American Congress NJ Div. and other organizations has collected approximately $15,000.00 in the past year. Money collected from donations has been spent for polishing of the steps and waxing the Katyn monument at Exchange Pl., Jersey City, New Jersey. Approximately the sum of three thousand dollars is left in the account.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Our committee plans to erect a safety fence around the monument and replace broken bricks around the foundation. Cost of same is estimated around twenty thousand dollars. In addition more funds will be necessary for the upkeep of the monument itself. We continue our appeal for donations from Polonia, various organizations and private individuals. It would be appreciated if you forwarded as much as is possible so that next year our monument may be presented in its best for the seventieth anniversary. We plan to hold two memorial services each year. Also our committee will sponsor an Ad Journal book that will include historical articles about Katyn and 70th<\/sup> anniversary of the massacre. Your support is appreciated.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
